The WWW: Navy and Grey

If there's one thing I find the most difficult to find for workwear, it's tops and tunics to wear with trousers.  Most are either too casual, too tight, or too short. And when you're in a hurry in the mornings, sometimes you just need to have a selection of neutral basics to put together for a 'go to' outfit. I love this tunic from Uniqlo because the fit is flattering and the fabric thin enough to layer another top underneath. I'd wear it over a pair of tailored grey trousers, and add a lighter scarf to avoid the whole outfit becoming too dark. Or add a pop of colour with bright accessories.

Merino Tencel Round Neck Half Sleeve Tunic £29.90, Uniqlo; Grey trousers £22, Next;  Navy dip hem crew neck trimarl top £8, Dorothy Perkins; Dolce Grey scarf £13.99, Bellissima Scarves; Hematite bling rings £8.50, Dorothy Perkins; Hards bag £45, Aldo; Country Music shoe £39.99, Clarks.

I pair a lot of shift dresses or shortish midi-dresses over plain trousers - whether straight cut or bootleg style. Sometimes palazzo pants, depending on the the dress design or print. So long as the dress is not tight and hits mid-thigh, and if arm cover needed, throw on a cardi or jacket. I generally find it easier to have solid colour basics and joosh things up with accessories or a printed hijab. And the fun part? Love draping the scarf to fall in a elegant manner over the front - just finishes the look somehow :)

Love the colour combination of grey and navy as you usually find people tend to stick to one or the other as a the base for a work outfit, but they work well together in this outfit.
