Style Notes: Philosophy

Fall 2010

There is so much to love in the designer collections for this season. Maxi dresses, skirts, beautiful knitwear and elegant coats; there are plenty of hijab-friendly style ideas to be had! First off is Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti. The long, loose gowns in silk and lace make stunning evening wear and are contrasted with chic tailored coats. The do remind me a little of Irna la Perle's designs from Indonesia, though I must say I think she does it better...

the white coat in the last row is stunning and the grey dress in second row, beautiful!
Jana, thanks for post it :)
I do love the gown designed by Irna La Perle (Irna Mutiara), especially the wedding gown...

I love when fashion goes more towards modesty than showing skin! The outfits you posted are nice, very urban and I'd dare to wear them for everyday stuff. I also checked out Irna la Perla's website and found her designs gorgeous! Her clothes are more sophisticated, though, something to wear in special occasions.
Thanks, Jana, for the post!

those are all gorgeous! very feminine, old-fashioned charm and tailored look. I wouldn't picture myself in the first two, but the 3rd with the long trench and the 4th dress are amazing!

Much as I could never wear those dresses (since I'm not built like a stick), there is something ethereal and beautiful about them.
