Maxi Style: Day and Night

Resort 2010

Take inspiration from the runways this season with maxi dresses topped off with a smart jacket; they are such a lovely look for daytime this summer. I particularly love this Max Azria outfit with the neutral blazer and pretty print on the dress. Roksanda Ilincic on the other hand showcased a sleek, all-black ensemble that wouldn't look out of place in a formal environment.

Come evening time, and kaftans are ideal for going out or to take on a laid-back beach holiday. The Badgley Mischka kaftan has a stunning print, whilst Issa's is simpler and more relaxed. Which is your favourite look?

Salaams Jana, I am definitely planning on copying the first look for a picnic or summer outing. I just need to find a nice boyfriend blazer!

As for the last two, they look like Galabiyya to me. I think European designers are looking to where the money is, and creating looks to appeal to their arab clientele.

I like the first combination...i love neutral soft colors..they put the accent on the person who wears them, and dont create the affect of "being lost" in too colorful clothes
it is cute...and enough european for me lol

Salam,

Is it just me, or do there seem to be a lot of designs this season that appear to have been inspired by Arab, Persian and Indian styles? I was looking through the resort designs for fall 2010 on style.com, and a lot of them reminded me of Abayas and Indian Sarees.

This is wonderful! Designer clothings are more modest nowadays ! Good inspiration for us =D
