Pink Hijab Day

This year, Pink Hijab Day will be taking place on Wednesday October 28th.

According to the website, "Pink Hijab Day is intended to shatter stereotypes of Muslim women, as well as raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. All over the world, Muslims participated by wearing pink hijabs, pink ribbons, and donating to breast cancer foundations."

Check out my post here from last year for more information and ideas for fundraising. Have you got any events planned for the day?

Masha Allah! Great Idea! i work in the U.S. as a social worker helping Native American women who are victims of domestic violence. The color purple is the representative color for domestic violence prevention/awareness. What about a purple hijab day to raise awareness about both the hijab and domestic violence?

I wish my school let us wear hijabs; if they did I totally would! (and if I had a pink hijab-or any hijab :P)

I want to do something... I don't have any Muslim friends, but I almost want to wear it to mostly explain to people what hijab is, etc. It's obviously related to breast cancer and I'm trying to think of a way to show that I'm also doing this for the cause... Some sort of way to raise funds... Maybe getting a couple friends to participate, and others to donate for us wearing pink hijab for the day? Sounds weird, I'll work on my idea. lol

At sydney uni since we've got exams we're holding it Oct 20th! :D:D:D We're selling merchandise and increasing awareness of the issue on campus :D We also want to dispel stereotypes about Muslims and show how we can take an active positive role in the community.

I also need an outfit idea :S Im thinking of wearing my medium purple jilbab with a pink hijab? or a brown jilbab with a pink scarf :D If you could do a set that would be great!
