Bosnian Street Style

Muslim women's fashion in Bosnia appears to be a blend of Turkish, Arab and European styles. The end result is fresh and relaxed without looking scruffy. I particularly like the hijab wraps of the girl in pink in the 1st picture, and the girl in orange in the 3rd. I've already profiled one Bosnian muslimah, Aida Begić, and here are more photos of Bosnian hijab style:

yes sis, its pretty much a blend of everything. you can spot some really fashion conscious muslimahs but others quite niqaab-ed (not that they aren't any fashionable but you know). Basically like in any bigger European city now a days. But yah,Bosnians do get a lot of Turkish influence.

Lots of cool styles here. I like the orange one in the third picture too, and the brownish scarf in the same pic. Nice and earthy. And the two on the sides in the 5th picture. That's my style with the large scarf and long skirt.

I love the purple skirt in the last picture, For some reason no matter how hard I try I can't seem to pull off that look with the hijab in a bun, but them I only know how to do a basic bun. The sister wearing the greenish-blue in the last picture looks really sleek and sophisticated, ahh well looks like I'll be in front of the mirror for a few hours figuring out how to do some of these bun looks :p

Asalamulakum,
I have been trying to find out what Bosnian Muslimah wear for a long time. Thank you. I am light skinned like many Bosnians and the climate is similar here to Bosnia so I figure I can learn from them. I have NEVER been fashionable and um wearing all black makes me look dead, lol and i cant much for squat so I either look dead or ridiculous...lol

I like how these bosnian sisters have almost no make up on, or if there is, they look very natural. It's such a refreshing thing to see and a welcoming break from the usual hijabis with very thick or noticeable make up on. The latter appear as if desperate to be pretty (i'm sure they aren't, but the key word here is "appear as if"). For special occassions like Eid, maybe a noticeable make up is nice. But to wear them everytime you go out just screams "trying too hard". Anyway, this is just my personal view on make up in general- whether on hijabis or otherwise. I'm sure brothers would agree too.

Actually, not many Bosnian women wear hijabs at all so seeing this on the streets is very rare. These pictures are probably all there is of Bosnian women in hijabs lol. And none of them wear burqas that cover the whole body & face. They are still very much European.
