Designer: Awatif Al Hai

Kuwaiti designer Awatif Al Hai creates beautiful jalabiyas/house dresses rich in colour and detail. These are just a few of her designs, more to come soon! I think my favourite has to be the orange and purple combo of trousers and open kaftan (9th pic):

Beautiful clothes, mashAllah! do u reckon there are any Asian influences? like i kept picturing Japanese kimonos and pics 4 and 7 remind me of Pakistani/Asian wedding outfits, and the blue outfit in the 8th last pic reminds me of an Indian sari! my fave is the bronzey/orange/maroon one in the last pic :D x

So...project/favor. I just bought a purple dress literally off a manequin.I have no clue what to put it with, except well black. It is very similar to the one at: http://www.polyvore.com/purple_bandeau_dress_as_seen/thing?id=427585
Mine has a crossover back and frane and has straps. It has a satiny shine but not the feel
How do I hijabify this??
-Rabeea :) again

Assalam-alaikam,
what a lovely range, pure eye-candy. I don't think there were any I disliked, but I really loved the burgundy one at the beginning.

That orange one is hot!!!

Yes, do try tofu but you have to be careful your first time! Make sure whoever cooks it really knows how to make it because the first time either makes you or breaks you. I like fried tofu (kinds defeats the whole healthy thing LOL!) thai style.

Glad you all liked them! Unfortunately I counldn't find a website or any contact details for the designer.

I've posted links to stores that sell jalabiyas here:

Rabeea, try grey/silver with turquoise accessories if you don't want black at all. Add a pair of trousers underneath and a shrug/cropped cardigan to cover arms.
