More Summer Style

This is another great summer dress - vibrant colour, loose fit and fully lined so it won't need layering, but the 3/4 sleeves can be solved with a pair of cotton arm sleeves. Snakeskin prints always take an outfit up a notch, but choose wisely or it could end up looking very, very tacky. Bags like this one I think are just awful - avoid at all costs! To incorporate metallics into this outfit, keep it to tasteful jewellery, like this gorgeous silver cuff:

Groovy dress £25, French Connection; pink hijab £4.99, Islam Orient; large metal cuff £8, ASOS; snake print clutch £20, Miss Selfridge; stone trousers £20, Miss Selfridge; tan platform sandals £15, Dorothy Perkins.

Great outfit. I love your blog, it's such an inspiration. I have a question (if you don't mind): i have a few really pretty skirts in my wardrobe but never wear them as have no idea what top would go with them: buttoned shirt seams like old lady style but t-shirt too boring, and what about a belt? I'm always wearing trousers but want to try something different.
Would be great if can offer some tips, inshallah.xxxxxxx

As-salaamu `alaykum,

I've been following your blog and just wanted to thank you for sharing your ideas and tips.

Just wanted to ask you: Which shop should I visit for nice abayas and scarves/shaylas in London?

The best bit I think is the hidden side pockets in the dress! I love pockets in dresses :D

Following the above question - do you know where I can find a totally plain, very un-fussy abaya, one in deep teal and one in deep purple? The brown abaya featured in your post about leopard print scarves was perfect in style and I loved the short-sleeved cardi/belt idea, but I don't like brown! Thanks :)

basbousa, so is the dress lol :D

anon 1, me too :)

anon 2, thank you very much! The whole point of the blog was to help Muslimahs find clothing here in the UK, so even if it takes time, I always like to find current, in stock items.

ania, check out all my skirt outfits here, there are lots of options:

Umm M, there are 3 that I know of:

Arabian Nites: http://www.arabiannites.co.uk/

La Veil:

Sedoo Creations:

Amirah, I love them too - so handy! I know that Arabian Nites has a deep purple abaya at the moment - it's not on their site, but saw it at the Expo, and I think they may actually have one in teal too! I'll have a look around and see if there are any others!

Jazakillah khairun Jana, that would be brilliant :)

Amirah, your best bet is to go to Hijab Online:

Click on product overview, then jilbabs. The sister tailor makes jilbabs to your specification. She's listed purple as an option for a few of the jilbabs on the site, but I'm sure if you let her know what you're looking for she'll do her best to accomodate.

Hope that helps!
