This summer, if you're planning to go somewhere like this:

Then you might want to pack something like this. As inspired by Muna AbuSulayman:

Tea jewelled kaftan £55, Monsoon; white linen trousers £15, Dorothy Perkins; raspberry wrap £18, Monsoon; white t-shirt £5, Dorothy Perkins; cream canvas bag £18, Debenhams; sandals £12, New Look.

Arima, yep, posted it just before I left the house :D I took this pic in Turkey - on a boat on the Bosphorus :)

Eternal, yeah it's pricey but I picked it because it was so close!

Great post as I am going to Turkey in the summer :) so as in your top line 'if you're going to a place like this'... I AM lol - thanks for the inspiration!!

this is good stuff....but isnt hijab all about covering up the curves of the body? I think its about the whole abaya that is more appropriate...

I guess I am not expert on this but I believe thats the right way...correct me if I am wrong...

Aalya, lucky you! I'd love to visit Turkey again.

UTP, thanks. Although I don't see what I've posted that goes against hijab? Abaya is not the only way for Muslim women to dress. I've seen plenty of women wearing figure-hugging abays with massive slits up them. I'm not going to put up a disclaimer on each and every post to say 'please don't buy tight clothing', that should be obvious...

I think you are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE the site above!

Thanks for a great outfit for summer!

This is the anonymous with the nordstrom website again. I was wondering if you had a great look or a how to for an outfit with a cashmere scarf around the neck. I don't know if that explains it well. But I like the look with the cashmere scarf but when I wear it with the hijab, it just doesn't look right. Maybe you can give me some suggestions. I'll be waiting for some updates!
Thanks a bunch,

Aisheh :)

pretty pretty :) perfect beach wear... :D:D
i would probs pair it with a beige tank top tho... long sleeve tshirts make me hot in the summer! :P

Aamina, thanks!

Aisheh, thanks for the link! That outfit is very nice! Too bad it's in the US though :( As for the scarf, I'll try and get some pictures for you inshallah. What past of the world are you living in though - it's way too hot for neck scarves here :D

Farrahh, good point lol, I thought the sleeves were see-through, but they're not, so I changed it to short sleeve tee!

hehe... cool! :D
or should i say.. cooler? lol :P

To stay fresh and comfortable during summer holidays I keep layering to a minimum and use long sleeve non-see through tops. Light colours also help keep you cool.

I have done the bosphorous trip too - did you do the full trip with the stop over ?
