More Ms. Bradshaw

I coudn't resist doing another Carrie Bradshaw post after seeing her outfits from the new film. This dress is simply gorgeous:

The shops are filled with floral 50's style prom dresses this season. At first glance you may think they're unwearable with hijab, but it can be done! These dresses tend to be tight around the waist and then flare out a lot at the hips. So you'll need to wear a jacket on top which is long enough to cover up your waist. Then just add some smart trousers underneath, but avoid ones which are too wide-cut. Ideally, you should look for a dress which is knee length. I think the hijab would look best wrapped Khaleeji style:

Poppy print dress £85, Oasis; cotton sateen trousers £38, Oasis; Patou jacket £135, All Saints; zebra platform sandals £150, Karen Millen @ ASOS; hijab, £4.99 Hijab Store Online; metallic clutch bag £16, Oli.

I cannot understand why your clothes and other hijab style blogs are all so expensive, I have children and we are on low income and I could never afford to buy these clothes,

Anon, actually the majority of the items I post are very reasonably priced, e.g. this one http://hijabstyle.blogspot.com/2008/05/keeping-cool.html

This one particular post had expensive items because they were the only ones I could find that had good pictures and were close enough to the original photo. Everyone has different budgets, so I post a range of things to suit everyone, from Primark to Prada.

In the end, these posts are for style inspiration. You can find other similar items at a lower price.

Ammena, lol yes heels certainly help :D

Hayah, Masha'Allah you have a very keen eye. And since I have started frequenting your blog, I am having urges to run to the mall (next run is on Friday hehe). Love the zebra print shoes.

BTW, there was a red shirt dress you posted recently and I loved it.I walked into a store (one of many in my attempt to find something similar) here without looking at the name and showed the girl the printout. She showed me the EXACT same thing. Shocked, I walked out and saw that the store was called Warehouse (sp?). Qatar is clearly expanding :S

People-stop complaining about prices. Go to the mall and find something similar. The only things we discount shop for here online are on Islamic websites. Don't be lazy! The mall has the same things Hayah and all us fashion bloggers find for lower prices.

Although I don't like the whole SITC-thing, and find it oh so offensive, I have to admit, that dress, with all those adorable roses is amazing.
