Citrus Brights

Get ready for summer with my pick of fruity scarves:

Green hijab £7.95, The Hijab Shop

Yellow hijab £6.99, Hijab Store Online

Orange hijab £6.99, Muslim Base

N.B. Obviously the mad make-up in the above pic is not exactly hijab appropriate! I was just inspired by the colours...

I wore a lime hijab today--- paired with a navy blue jumper with a bit of a split in the the front so that it could show my white trousers when I walked, black turtleneck (arm coverage no style addition he he he), and my lime hijab had a crystal outline butterfly dangly stick pin in it. You inspired me today Hayah. got lots of compliments too... I usually do pink jeans, pink hijab and navy sleevless jilbab/jumper (and both colour combos look so American and sporty!). Pink and navy is a cute kind of preppy, and lime and navy always make me think of ladies with yachts.

Alix, that sounds very nice :D Was it like a long cardigan or something?

Pink_marshmallow, I had the same problem until I dicovered bronzing powder :D

PM: Few are paler than me, I find lip or bronze lipstick or tinted gloss as well as little bronzer or peach blush cure most pale-girl ills!

Hayah: LOL, NOPE. This perfect abya but not abaya find cost a mere four dollars at a charity shop. You know those ugly loose sheath dresses from the eighties that show off the arm pits? Well tuck a turtleneck under it a'la fifties Audrey Hepburn, and you've got a cheap and easy wardrobe ensamble. I call them sleevless jilbabs, Aalia: jumpers, but we always find them in used stores, and no one (from hijab-scared bosses and parents) to super-strict hijab police wannnabees like them. Aalia found one for six cad dollars. mine was four. try it.

Assalam-alaikam Sister Hayah,
pretty colours, but they are all ones that make me look sallow. People seem to love when I wear brightly coloured hijab though, I think maybe some people find the black intimidating and this is a nice change for them.

Alix, I haven't the foggiest! Btw did you see the pics from the SATC premier? SJP and her lime green dress!!

Umm Salihah, I think people do find black intimidating, especially in summer. If you don't like neon brights try softer pastel shades.

Hayah I'll post a pic eventually, of all my non-abaya outfits, insha'Allah. Yes, and wasn't her hat soooo cute with it? I don't think i could pull the hat off but....
