SJP meets Glamorous Muslimah

Whilst putting together the last post, I came across a recent picture of Sarah Jessica Parker. Notice anything interesting?

The lovely Muna AbuSulayman is obviously way ahead of the game, as this picture was taken back in 2007. Lots of necklaces of different textures and lengths add interest to an otherwise plain dress. Metallics also work really well with this taupe colour, as seen by Muna's hijab (I'm still on the lookout for a similar one). I've shown two bags here, one is in the same colour as the shoes, or be brave and opt for the multi-coloured clutch like SJP:

Satin dress £35, La Redoute; silver long sleeve top £10, Topshop; sequin hijab £5.99, Hijab Store Online; grey trousers £25, Dorothy Perkins; taupe shoes £70 and matching bag £30, Faith; multi-coloured clutch £45, Mogil; necklaces, Dorothy Perkins and Accessorize.

That is such a great post, noticing the similarity and creating a great outfit for us to try!

Awww thank you! I really wanted to find a long sleeve blouse like the one Muna is wearing, I think it looks a lot nicer without having to layer.. if anyone finds one let me know!

I think jeans would look really nice with it, as well.

This is a long sleeved option but it isn't a tunic:
for $19.80 USD

another short sleeved option:
for $27.80 USD

and i have to layer I personally love this one:

I would rock that mutli-coloured purse SO nicely.

I wondering the way muna wears her hijab with the hair is this allowed, its just that I havent worn hijab before and would like to wear it this way I love the way the Dubai girls wear their scarves with the hair at the front it looks so nice and glamorous its the first time I have come across this blog its ace man

No---hijab is meant to cover all the hair----that's the ONE thing wrong with Muna's hijab, and some Emirati girls'.

Ammena, thanks! I'll keep a look out.

Organic, yes they would, if you wanted to go for a more casual look.

Alix, thanks for those links I'm sure the USA readers will find that helpful.

Anon, thank you! As Alixianna said, the hijab us supposed to cover everything but the hands and face (some also say feet), so unfortunately that's not a totally acceptable way of wearing the hijab. But it can still look just as nice if it covers all the hair.

Is this what they call serendipity? A great SJP post and then one about Muna, another SJP post at Alixianna's blog, and then a pic of SJP and Muna wearing similar outfits!
I love the shoes and bag from Faith, very chic, great colour too.

umm Salihah, I was joking with Hayah that as long as we didn't post the same SJP outfit no one accuse us of copying eachother, and I mean, the woman wear a THOUSAND outfits on her HBO show and coincidence of coincidence (there's no way Hayah could have seen what I was working on because I don't use Polyvore) we chose the exact same look. It made me laugh Sooooooo hard. Were both like, no way........ And for my look, Hayah found a better shirt, case anybody is wondering.
