Salaams Hayah,
I dont know if its the pictures or that I can't visualise them how they are intended to be worn, but I found most of the abaya's on the designers site either too form-fitting or too frumpy looking. Think I prefer one-off couture (off my mum's sewing machine!).

I sort of like the trench coat one---but I could just BUY a trench coat.

Umm Salihaa,

They all look pretty loose fitting to me, with the exception of the first pic maybe.

Alixianna,

Personally I LOVE the ruffles on the third one!

The ruffled one: It is unique, but I couldn't pull it off....

Yep love them all but I'm a size 18 !!! Any ideas how I can look just about ok in one, S

Anon S,

Black abayas are quite slimming. Don't make the mistake of buying one thats too baggy, that only serves to make anyone look bigger. It may be best to get one tailor made, so it can be to your exact requirements.

I love how abayas make us all look slim and elgent: a slim woman, a curvy girl, and big and beautiful sister... In Oman I saw abayas for everyone, and really, size 18 is perfect there. It's being short that sucks in the Gulf, Everything is soooooo long.

Oh thank you for that. Makes me feel much better and the advice is great as I probably would have gone for large is best so will be a bit careful about what I go for.

Thanks again, S

Hi

Another great designer abaya site is www.noblesseoblige.us

I love the python and botanical line in Noblesse Oblige.

Enjoy!

the craftsmanship in the cut elaborates the silhouette of this designers collection. i would have only picked this up as i used to work for a fashion house.
i'm sure they provide size 18, their clientele is in the gulf anyway :)
